What are the lifespans of LED TVs and LCD TVs? I heard LED’s average 40,000 to 50,000 hours, and LCD’s average 60,000 to 80,000 hours. What are the real averages? Thanks!

Those numbers really don’t mean anything. It can only tell you the estimated life span for the back light.
I’ve seen so many plasma and LCD TVs that died after only 1-3 years. Why? The two most common issues are power supply failures and right behind that, various electronic board failures.
So, you could have LEDs or CCFL backlights that last for 60,000 hours, but if the power supply fails in 5,000 hours who cares right?
The truth is, nobody knows the true life of flat panels. I’ve seen plenty fail in a short time, that includes DLP and LCD and LcoS projection TVs too.
The numbers you have are close, but I believe the latest estimate are for plasma and LCD to be the same, about 50,000 hrs. Since failure of LCD TVs are mostly due to the fluorescent tubes, LED-lit LCDs should last longer.
